Scitech Perth Launches Interactive Science Exhibits for July 2026 School Holidays

Scitech opens at 9:00 AM daily during the 2026 school holidays from July 4 to 19, giving families an early start at the City West Centre in West Perth.

Reaching the Centre

The centre sits at the corner of Railway Street and Sutherland Street, directly across from City West train station on the Fremantle Line. Visitors receive two hours of free parking in the undercover car park at the site.

Inside the Galleries and Planetarium

Six interactive galleries house more than 100 hands-on exhibits designed for children ranging from toddlers to teens. Australasia's largest planetarium forms a central feature, alongside live demonstrations and the Discoverland area reserved for children under seven.

Current Holiday Programming

Exhibitions on display include Human Potential, while scheduled shows feature Mystery Hunters and Quiet as a Mouse. General admission stands at approximately $25 for adults and $15 for children, with two to three hours recommended to cover the planetarium, demonstrations and younger children's zone.

Practical Considerations for the Day

Scitech lacks a permanent cafeteria, so families are encouraged to bring packed lunches, though pop-up cafes operate during holiday periods. Outside school holidays the centre follows standard hours of 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends and public holidays, remaining closed only on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
